News from Heights Chateau

Firstly, we are all well and bearing up after the devastation of Sandy, Matthew and family in Belle Harbor and Sergio and family on Staten Island having been most affected. There was, for obvious reasons, nothing to report last week since we got no deliveries (thanks to Sandy) the week of October 29, but herewith a few new items that did make it into the store last week, the week of November 5.
 
NEW WHITES:
Terenzuola 2011 Vermentino @ $13.99
from a relatively new producer in the far north of coastal Tuscany, a Vermentino with rich, textures fruit and distinctive minerality
Echardieres 2011 Sauvignon Blanc @ $13.99
from the left bank of the Cher River not far from Chenonceau, a stainless-steel Sauvignon Blanc, dry and fruity, floral and citrusy
Haut Lavigne 2009 La Miss Blanc @ $17.99
a blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc from the Cotes de Duras in southwestern France, rich and powerful with notes of citrus and tropical fruit and racy acidity
Reata 2011 Chardonnay @ $19.99
lively and crisp, a Chablis-style Chardonnay from Napa that is a complex blend of enticing fruit aromas beautifully paired with fresh honeydew melon and grapefruit flavors
Pfister 2009 Riesling @ $28.99
a single-vineyard Riesling from Alsace, perfumed but restrained, with a minerally, citrus character on the nose

Cabernet Franc from the Loire, with aromas of raspberries, bell pepper and tobacco, a lively palate with plenty of red-fruit flavors, pronounced acidity, and a crisp clean finish

Brizio 2006 Rosso di Montalcino @ $23.99
from a top small producer in Montalcino known for his elegant Brunellos, fresh and juicy with bright red fruit flavors, lively acidity, smooth tannins, and a pure, long finish
Coucy 2009 Montagne St. Emilion @ $24.99
from one of the oldest properties in this appellation, a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cab Franc, rich, well balanced, with spiciness mixed with cherries and roses
